I realize that this blog is called “Our Pretty Simple Life”… But I hope that you did not expect it to be about a perfect little family with no worries or troubles. If you did, you have come to the wrong place.

I am what you call a human being, and as human beings we all have both ups and downs in our lives. It is not all rainbows, unicorns, and fairy dust all the time. So many people try to make their lives seem flawless as opposed to being real and honest.

I chose the name of this blog with the intentions of illustrating the irony a bit. Because life is not always “pretty” and “simple” and in reality it is usually more along the lines of “messy” and “complicated” among other things.

I am beyond blessed and so thankful for the life, family, and friends that I have, and while most of my experiences I would consider “ups” or “highs” in life, there are times when things happen and to be honest, they just straight up suck. There doesn’t seem to be a better way of phrasing that right now, so that’s what I am going with. However, even in the midst of the craziness, it helps me to find my way back to my faith in God and to know that He has it all under control and He has a plan.

I hope that in sharing some of the ups and downs of my life with you, you’ll be able to relate to them… and I hope I can make you laugh and maybe even cry (probably from laughing so hard) along with me.
